Default Divorce and Chapter 13 Bankrupcy

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: I was awarded all of my personal possesions and some cash by by the judge in my divorce proceedings. It was awarded in Aug. of 2008. In May 2009 my ex-wife filed bankrupcy chapter 13. Does this mean that she does not have to honor the judgement i was awarded last year?

    Not necessarily.

You have three months from the time she filed her bankruptcy to file proof of claim with the bankruptcy court, in order to be added to the list of creditors.

You might consider a consultation with an attorney in your area for help with this.
