My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: New York
My ex employer has asked for an administrative hearing because i was awarded unemployment benefits and he is not in agreement. My questions are: He is lying in his letter that he sent to the DOL regarding what really happened to cause me to leave voluntarily and it is not his signature on the letter to the DOL. I know his signature, and thats not what is on the letter. If you sign for your boss, dont you have to put your initials next to his name, as I was taught, or no?
Also, if the DOL once again rules in my favor, can I go after him for slander and defamation of character?
Can I introduce confidential evidence only to the judge without the my boss knowing what is in it, but will help me prove my case. Thank you.
