    Default Shoplifting No Police Called

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maryland

Recently I was caught removing a magazine from the plastic cover at a local market. I was appraoched by a clerk and asked to leave the store. They did not take my name or any information whatsoever. Nor were the police called. However, I know I was caught on tape. I never attempted to hide the mags or leave the store with them. When appoached I tried to explain the situation and offered to pay for them, but they just said to leave. I actaully just wanted to see the covers and planned on buying them. I did look suspicious because I was kind of loitering around the rack because there was an old lady at the register and I was embarrssed to pay for the mags with her. Am I in trouble?? Can this come back to haunt me? I know that my prints are in the system since I am currently on probation for a DUI. I recently got accepted into law school and I don't want this misunderstanding to surface. Please help me sleep at night. I'm going crazy!!
