I divorced my 1st wife in IL in 2003, in the divorce papers I agreed to pay her $300 a month in child support for 2 children, with joint custody. I was in the military and was unable to attend the divorce hearings. I later found out that she had told the judge I abandoned her and the judge gave her full custody. I had been paying her by western union for 2 years. In 2005 I started getting my wages garnished. I contacted the IL Dept of Family Services and they had told me that their was a court order to garnish my wages for non-payment of child support (Which I did not receive any paperwork stating that this was happening), and that I would have to contact the judge on the case and see if he would hear my appeal. I went through the whole appeal process as well as mailing copies of the western unions to both the states attny, the judge, and the IL Dept of Family Services. On the court date my X-Wife did not show up, the states attny stated that any money I had given straight to my x-wife was considered a gift. I had also requested a DNA test on one of the children and was told that because I divorced in 2003 and it was now 2006 I had past my limitation to request a DNA test. I never get to see them, I do not even know where she is now.

Now my wages are being garnished $400 a month for back child support of the 2 years and it is showing on my credit that I owe $14,000 in back child support. I have talked to several lawyers in the last 3 years in the area where I got my divorce and no one will take the case. What if anything can I do?
