    Default Bank Account Garnishment

My question involves judgment recovery in the State of: Alabama

My husband just got off the phone with the sheriffs dept. because they attempted to deliver some type of letter stating that a company that had a judgement against him is going to go into one of his bank accounts to take money. We dont know the specifics, but is there anything that we need to do?

How much can they take at one time? Should we take everything out of the account and leave in what we can afford for them to take at one time? Should we call the company and try to pay the original amount, I'm assuming that it's too late for that...... How do we make sure that the tradeline from the Original Creditor and the Judgement get deleted and vacated once this whole mess is over?

Generally, they will take as much money as they can get. Generally, you will find the money frozen or gone by the time you have the opportunity to withdraw it, for obvious reasons.

You don't get to remove accurate information from your credit report, merely because you finally get around to paying an overdue obligation. If it's paid off, the credit report should be updated to reflect that fact.
