Default 39:4-96 New Jersey Reckless Driving First Time Offender

My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: NJ

Last Saturday on July the 4th I was designated driver for a few friends who were out drinking. I was pulled over shortly after speeding out of an intersection.

The ticket is a first time offense, my only two other prior charges were a failure to prevent insurance and a careless driving which had been issued in place of a speeding violation.

How should I expect to present my case to the court? What kind of fine should I expect? If I am to plead not guilty, how do I argue against the case? I am a 20 year old male college student and am trying to avoid telling my dad about the ticket.

Also- do motor vehicle points transfer from state to state?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tombot

For us to suggest possible defenses, you need to share the facts of the incident and tell us what defenses you think you might have.

You can check with the state where you're licensed to see how they treat tickets from other jurisdictions. Each state has its own rules.
