My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA.
I got a letter in the mail saying I can not get the extension because I do not have earnings in excess of 40 times your weekly benefit amount or 1.5 times the highest quarter in the base period of your regular claim. I started my claim 2/01/09.
Long story short. I got a job at a bank worked there over a year was laid off due to cut backs. I was out of work and used all of the ui benefits available at the time. I got hired by a different bank just as they expired. I worked there for 8 months, until another bank took them over and laid everyone off. By this time my original claim had expired so a new one was opened. Now from what I gather I am being denied because I did not work long enough? If this is the case would it have been better if I never took the job as the first extension in ca was approved about one month after I took the new job. I am going to file an appeal but is there any chance in getting it approved?
