Default Reopening Extended Benefits Claim, New Claim Doesnt Qualify for Extension

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
In April 2009 I still had 15 weeks left of extended benefits. My benefit year expired and I had to open a new claim that lasts 14 weeks. (I worked for about 2 months during the initial claim). The new claim does not qualify for an extension (40 times benefit exceeds total income, higest 1/4 exceeds 1 1/2 times earnings). Once this new claim ends, can I collect the remaining 15 weeks from the old claims extended benefits?

I doubt it. It would appear that you're now operating under your new claim, based upon current eligibility. You should call and ask.
