    Default What Are My Rights

I still don't understand student loans, besides getting screwed.
The lender has to have a TILA disclose.
It states the APR, estimate finance charge, amount financed, and total of payments.
It is my understanding that students loans are not subject to TILA laws with exception to the above.
What are my rights? Its SLM, I think its private.

Why would you be "getting screwed" if the lender was so gracious to loan you money to go to school??? Do you mean you are screwing them by not paying it back???

By getting screwed I mean terms and conditions, and unethical business practices.

Look I just want to know what my rights are, or if I even have any with this evil deal.

I mean consumers usually have rights.
Not the case with student loans.
Don't stick up for a company with despicable practices.

So I've learned that congress changed the laws for SLM because they lobbied hard. These loans are by definition 'Unconsionable' though I wonder how well that argument would hold up. Anyone care to comment on that?

I mean I'm looking at this shaking my head thinking, what was I drunk?
I have to goto Gainesville Florida if anything goes to court. I'm in Atlanta GA.
If I default, they can add collection costs, they can charge me for their lawyers and any court costs, they can add interest and penalties, and I can't fight any of it.
I have also learned that Sallie Mae owns collection companies. So if a loan defaults, the really make bank.

If you don't know the definition of 'unconsionable'...
