H4 Extension Along with H1b Transfer when Another H4 Extension in in Process

Hi All,

First I would like to Thank everybody in this forum helping others with valuable information.

I have few questions about my wife/kids H4 extension.

1) Im currently working for Company A but planning to change my H1B to Company B within a week. Company B will apply for my H1B transfer. But Company A already applied for H4 extension for my Wife and Kid and is currently under process. What will happen to that application?

2) Is it possible for me to apply for H4 extension/transfer again along with my H1B transfer when Company B applies for H1B transfer for me next week?

3) Many of the internet forums says that H4 extension/transfer requires I-797 as one of the document? Does it mean that I cannot apply for H4 extension/transfer togther with my H1B transfer? Because I-797 will be provided only upon completion of H1B transfer, Isnt it?

H4 status is not employer-specific. It's derivative of your H1B status. Your third question appears moot.
