I'm 18 and just graduated high school and made the horrendous mistake of shoplifting about $100 worth of clothes from Kohls in Virginia today. I can't begin to explain my actions. Anyway, I was never actually approached but an employee nearby called to see the dressing room tapes as I walked out empty handed (with the clothes in my purse) and followed me outside. She stopped at the door while I kept walking. I got in my car and drove away without her approaching me or following to my car, but she watched me and was probably able to take down my license plate number.
Do you think they'll press charges or try to run my plate number to get my address/phone number? I'm really freaking out completely. I've never done anything like this before, I've no criminal record and I just have no idea what I should be expecting. I have no idea what my parents would think. Please help me figure out what I should prepare for. I knew I shouldn't have done this....
