Salary member of management in Texas. Was fired over the weekend from a large department store company. They claimed it was for an integrity issue.
We use a shared computer and everything we save goes under My Documents on the open desktop. I was looking for a report of mine when I found that managers evaluations were also being saved to the the desktop My documents. When it was found out that I discovered they where there for anyone to see, they fired me. The accused me of using an upper management's password to get into another system, but the fact is that these "sensitive" evaluation are on the shared computer for anyone to see. When word go around that they were out in plain view it upset upper management and other managers. So, since I discovered the mistake and saw the evaluations on other managers, I was fired.
Should I contact a lawyer? Does being salary imply a contract?
