I have a 5 year old shoplifting charge. Due to a variety of reasons/excuses (mainly paralyzing fear) I never went before the judge. Now, five years later I have two children under three, married, maintaining a 3.8 GPA in nursing school, volunteered at the hospital (this was before nursing school) in counseling, and am about to sit for the registered nurse licensing test in NJ. I already have a criminal impersonation charge from 13 years ago. What do I need to do to prove to the judge that I have completely turned my life around so that just maybe, I can get this charged dismissed or reduced to something that is not considered morally wrong? Otherwise I think the odds of getting licensed is nill to none.
Also, this happened in NY and I am looking to be licensed in NJ
