Emancipating to Get Married

okay i am like realy confused.i am 17 i live on my own i support my self and im 5 months pregnant...what exactly do i have to do to get emancipatied so me and my partner may get married?

well i live in missouri and i am 17. i have been living ON MY OWN. for almost two years. i live with my partner and i am pregnant me and him want to get married how do i go about getting emacipated even tho im already on my own anad prego?

There are no judges in this country that I am aware of that will emancipate a young girl so that she can play house with the male who got her pregnant.

You are not supporting yourself if you are living with someone else. You may be able to get married at your age with parental consent. I am not sure on the law on this one in Missouri.

Living in a sexual relationship since you were 15 can certainly place your beau in a peck of trouble, if the state chooses to pursue it.

Also, I am sorry to say that you have sentenced yourself and your child, and perhaps the father of the child, to a life of poverty and want. The number one indicator of future bankruptcy is having a child before age 25.

According to the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri,

In Missouri, a minor may be emancipated in one of three ways:

1) your parents may give express consent to a court that they are waiving their parental rights;

2) your parents may give implied consent, which would apply in situations where you have been living on your own, supporting yourself, and for all practical purposes your parents have relinquished their parental rights; and

3) you experience a significant change in your societal status-such as an enlistment in the military or marriage.

As in Kansas, emancipation requires the ruling of a judge.
