I and the mother of our son lives in Michigan. We had finalized our custody last June. We both have legal custody and her being CP. I get our son the NCP standard visitation except instead of picking him up on friday for my weekend I forgo wednesday 3 hour visitation and just pick him up on thursday and have him thru the weekend. And on the holiday weekend I have him she is always wanting to change the wednesday to thursday pickup (she says its not good for our son to keep dragging him back and forth). She just doesn't want to leave work 15 minutes early to bring him. We have to meet at the police station because she has caused sooo many problems. Anyway, I want to increase my visitation. Our son doesn't even call his mother "mommy" he calls her by her first name! Her mother (grandma) watches him thru the day as my sons mother works. She is out on the weekends (someone has seen) with her boyfriend on her weekends. I have asked our sons mother to increase my time with him but she keeps telling me she would miss him if she did that. Well, maybe she should stay home on the weekends to be with him. I am currently unemployed and have all the time in the world for our son. Is it too soon to ask the court for more time?
