My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: CT

Hello,

I'd appreciate your help. My wife signed a document when she started working saying she'd give 30 days notice. It is by no means a contract of employment as far as I know. It does not have an explicitly stated end date, which I would think means it is "open ended" and "at-will" - on both her part and the company's.

Today she gave her company a standard 2 weeks notice. They are threatening her with recouping the other two weeks in pay if she doesn't work and all this other crap. I tried to convince her that the 30 days is just a courtesy that they're asking for, but since CT is an At-will state, she could leave tomorrow if she wanted. Am I correct in my thinking? I tried searching on http://www.ctdol.state.ct.us/gendocs...on.html#MedArb but couldnt find anything.

Thanks
