Exclamation Statute of Limitations on Statutory Rape

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

Me and my boyfriend started dating when I was 13 & my boyfriend was 15 And I got pregnant when I was 14 and he was 16 and I gave birth at 15. My son is now 15 months old. I know it was illegal at the time. As far as they can prove its been exactly two years since weve had sex [9 months for the pregnancy and hes 15 months old now] I just want to know the statue of limitations on this because my mom now wants to press charges for statutary rape, just because of drama and she doesnt want him in HER life blah blah blah... just drama

I am now 16 years old and I turn 17 in July. My boyfriend is now 18..

I'm not looking for criticism I just want an answer.

Your mother should go to the police IMMEDIATELY.

I know you aren't the typical child. Typical children don't get themselves knocked up at 14. You are however, typical in wanting to hear what you want to hear as opposed to what you NEED to hear. The correct answer is that your mother can file a report until you reach the age of majority.

And most adults don't sit on a computer all night and sit here and fight with a "child" don't you have a life. Go to bed it's past your bed time. Don't you have work in the morning?

Thank you for FINALLY answering my question thats all I wanted to know.

Yes, I have to work in the morning to support my child. You know, you have a baby and you support it, without the aid of anyone else or any government entity. And no, 8pm is not past my bedtime. I GIVE bedtimes here, not have one. However, seeing as if it's 11pm on your side of the Earth, you either have a baby to take care of, housework to do, schoolwork to deal with since you shouldn't have a waking moment to play on the computer, or should be off doing something else to improve your life. I suggest you go do that and stop trying to play like the adult you so desperately want to be. I see exactly why your mother is having the problems with you she is. She should have put you in your place a LONG time ago.

Have your mother come on here. I have some things to tell her as well. I'd like to help her out with you, your boyfriend and her situation.

Depending upon the offense charged, the statute of limitations may not even start to run until you turn 18 or the offense is reported to the police. See, e.g., Florida Statutes, Sec. 800.04 and 775.15(13).
