My cousin is my and my husband's lawyer in an upcoming custody dispute between him and his child's mother that's bound to get ugly. We all grew up in a small town and we all knew each other several years ago. As weird as it may sound, my lawyer got into a car accident with the child's mother's brother (child's uncle) way back then.
My cousin has since moved far away, doesn't associate with anyone from that town other than us, had her name legally changed and had gastric bypass surgery and looks NOTHING like her old self. If they happen to somehow pick up on the fact that it's (the old) her, can they present a conflict of interest because of the accident?
