My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Michigan
My employer had a meeting on Friday and told us he would not be able to pay us and wasn't sure when he would. He stated that he would appreciate if we would work, but couldn't make us and for those of us who wouldn't work without getting paid, he would contact us when we were able to get paid. He contacted us two weeks later saying that we could pick up our checks and fired us for not working until the money came in. Is this wrongful termination? Are we able to file for unemployment?
