How to Get Child Support from a Incarcerated Parent

My child's father was sentenced to prison for basically the remainder of his life. He owes around $100,000 right now, but I won't get a penny of it if he never sees freedom again. What are my financial options if my child grows up fatherless? And can the court go after his joint bank accounts that he held with his wife? Can his wife stop it?

You can try to go after joint accounts or assets, but my guess is that you will need to move quickly as the assets are likely to end up transferred to the wife, either by agreement or perhaps as the result of divorce.
