Default Reckless Driving Ticket in Georgia

My question involves a reckless driving ticket from the State of: Georgia

I'm going to make this story short because I would just like to know what I can legally do.

I was driving to a friends house at 11:30 pm on a friday. I had a shot to drink with my parents during dinner a while before I left my house. I am driving on a two lane road and a cop passes me. He turns around and takes his time to pull me over. Then he takes me in for a DUI...and once at the station, I blow a 0.009 in the intoxicator 5000.

After looking at this rediculous number, the cop starts writing me a ticket for "reckless driving" and says that I was going 55 in a 40 (Which is honestly a lie) and also says that I went into his lane (While is also honestly a lie).

I'm going to court for this soon, and how can I fight that ticket? It was obviously made up but how come I don't get to explain my side of the story??

I'm 19, male, with a flawless driving and criminal records. I also spend 70 hours in jail completed 25 hours of community service.

How many years have you been a licensed driver?
Skip that... Point is, that will all be taken into consideration by the /judge if you choose to bring it up, however, you also have to keep in mind that we all start with a flawless driving and criminal record.

That to me, should be rule... Although nowadays, it seems like it is the exception!

What was that related to??? Was it when you were pulled over this time?

Also, if you have any additional questions, it would be of great help if you can post the statutes you were charged with.

Went to court on June 3rd, 2009. City of Dunwoody. No lawyer.

    Results:
    DUI - dropped
reckless - reduced to failure to follow basic road rules?
6 months license suspension -by the clerk, not the DMV.
    6 months probation
40 hours community service - 25 hours were done when I went to court
    $100 fine...

    I think I got a great deal..

    5 years...

It is true that we all start with a flawless driving record but about 95% of my friends have duis, speeding, reckless, mip, possession, and more tickets...and thats considering I hang out with a lot of different people...

Yes...because the city of dunwoody is new, they took me to the dekalb jail...and my mom had to post my bond at dunwoody offiece and then get me from dekalb jail...

While the Judge seemed very fair to me, he still knows to him self that the cops are lying SOBs...

Perfect Corey Smith song about the po-pos...just search if you'd like..

If you get a ticket for anything in GA the first thing you need to do is take a Defensive Driving program, there is a good chance the Judge will look much more favorably on you from the beginning if you show regret and willingness to change!

    Good luck!
