    Default Civil Demand Fine

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Utah

Long story short: Shoplifted, got caught, no police. I received my civil demand letter and was wondering: is there any way to reduce the fine? I'd prefer to avoid court, if possible...

    Thank you.

Probably not. You can contact the company and ask, but it's more likely that your only option is a payment arrangement.

If you don't pay it, court will no longer be a hypothetical.
