(New Jersey) I finally got a hold of the person in charge of my CS. He stated he will send the mother of my daughter an letter stating the child support will end unless she has a reason why it shouldn't, for example college. My daughter graduates from High School next week.
My question is: What exactly is entailed in the letter? What proof does the mother have to provide?
If I understand correctly, if her mother does not agree to have the child support ended, there will be an court hearing to decide and if so, a new amount can be requested. In my case a reduction, because I am paying the max for my salary because the letter I wrote was worded incorrectly and I was considered a "No Show" at my initial case, I live far away from NJ.
Does this sound about right?
