My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: Florida
Hello,
First, I am sorry for my English, it is not my first language.
So I got a ticket in Florida.
It said: RA stop sign
section: 316.123
sub-section: 2b
crash: no
court info: must comply by 6/18/09, see mailer
location: se 4 ct and se 12
The police officer (or the sherrif, I don't remember) told me that I "disobeyed stop sign/four way" (it is written on the website where I have to pay).
BUT, that happened on a Roundabout! I wasn't sure if there was a stop sign on it so I didn't complain but actually there is just a yield (I double checked afterwards and I double checked on google map, and there is a roundabout and with the street view on google map I can see the yield)
So because the policeman wrote the correct intersection where he pulled me over and wrote that I disobeyed to a stop sign, I can plead not guilty.
I would just like to get a confirmation from you
And next, I would like to know where I can get some information about how to plead not guilty, how I have to dress, how I have to call the judge and the prosecutor (sir, your honor...), what are the different steps (first I have to present myself, then describe the citation, the location, then quote the law...).
Thank you very much,
Julien
PS: these are some links where the law is explained
