Most people here don't claim that the ticket is not accurate; they're looking for loopholes.

... Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I used to pay may tickets and just accept that that's the price I have to pay to drive in a manner I'm comfortable with. I've been driving since 1979 and have never had an accident. I've had about 15 tickets though.

But enter the Insurance industry's recent method of recouping their stock market losses by crankin' up the rates of anyone who has a couple minor tickets (rate doubled in my case), and I say, "Heck ya! I'll use every loop-hole there is... with a completely clear conscience!" I can't double the rates of my clients to get back my investment losses, so I have to find ways to protect myself. If I tried obeying every traffic law precisely, road-ragers would have my head! So fighting my tickets is my self-defence from the "Insurance Nazis" and I commend others who do the same

In the mean time, if you fail to show at the REAL time you run the risk of having to untangle the legal morass of a license suspension for an FTA and the possibility of a bench warrant.

If you show up at 9 PM and then attend court the next day and ask where everyone was, that might be too late to unring that bell without some consternation to you.

You are the one that will likely be inconvenienced (if you are picked up on a warrant or get your car towed), not the court. Ultimately you will still have to answer for the citation. The question is if you want to do it before you get a suspension for an FTA, or after.

I agree with Carl -- one phone call to the court clerk would clear up the whole matter. They may, indeed, have you scheduled for "night court", although it's highly unlikely.

BTW, Carl, I'm going to be driving down your way next week. Please instruct your officers to ignore a little white Camry with WA plates, OK?

Hmmm ... perhaps if you sent a photo and your travel itinerary down?

Just don't go TOO fast! We have snow and hail at the base of the mountains down here ... and its going to get worse.
