Exclamation Denied Political Asylum, Letter of Deportation, but Engaged to an American Citizen

I've been in the U.S. for almost 8 years. I've spent those 8 years legally while in the process of acquiring an asylum. I have a SSN and a work permit. I am under my mom (and dad's) case since I applied for it when we first got here as I was still underage. We were originally granted the asylum (torture clause) but the prosecutor appealed. Since then we've been waiting to have our final court date but due to a long process of circumstances (original judge passed away subsequently sending us into a spin of master court hearings and pointless paperwork) we've been staying here legally with a pending asylum. However, as of a few weeks ago we were officially denied our case in court and thus sent a letter of deportation. My parents decided to appeal immediately.

Meanwhile and prior to us suspecting our case would be denied I had gotten engaged to my boyfriend but we didn't marry immediately because we wanted to plan our wedding and enjoy our engagement, as well as finish college. However, we've heard the appeal process does not give that much time (at least not enough to allow for us to continue our original wedding plans) but we've also been told (and suggested) by lawyers to marry ASAP. The question is what are our options. Moreover, HIS options as an American Citizen.

I have no record (neither traffic violations nor arrests), have always been legal, and when having held a job I used my work permit.

Do we have to get married immediately? Or are there more solutions to this?

    Thank you in advance.

Surely you have an immigration lawyer working your case. If so, talk to your lawyer. If not, why in the world not?

If you're no longer able to take voluntary departure, you're most likely looking at a five year period when you're ineligible to enter the United States or to adjust your status.
