    Default Roommate Problem

A year ago I moved to arlington, Virginia with 2 other roommates in a 3 bedroom apartment. In the beginning when I moved In one of my roommate wanted to take the master bedroom which had an attached bath. she said she would pay 100$ more for having the bigger share of the house but then later said that all 3 of us could use the bathroom which was in her room and she would pay the same amount as everyone. But the three bedroom were of different size and I had the smaller bedroom but was still paying the same amount of rent just because I wanted all 3 of us not to have any issues. But then later she never wanted to share the restroom but still paid the same amount. When we initially moved in, we 3 pooled in some money and bought some furniture for the living room. The 2 roommates moved out and I have new people moved in who are paying more for their bedrooms depending on the size of the room. Now my previous roommate demands me to give her the share of the money which she pooled in for the furniture. I refused to do so since her share of the furniture was just 75$ and she played a trick and did not pay 100$ more for her room for 1 year. Now she says that she going to take legal action against me saying it’s not her fault that I did not mention about it before. Can you please advice me what kind of legal action she can take here against me and what legal actions I could be taking against her?

Also my boy friend used to come over for sleep overs sometime which 2 of them never complained about but the 1 asking the $75 back raised the issue 2 days before she was moving out and used a very bad language. I am a person who respect others privacy and if mentioned before would have asked my boy friend not to visit my place. Also she used to get her friends over every weekend and used to create nuisance till late in the morning which I never complained about either and even her bf used to come over for sleep overs just like my bf, So I obviously thought its an understanding between us that we keep having friends over and dont really mind. I am mentioning all this because I am wondering if she can take any legal action about this issue as well.

Please advice me what I should do. We dont have any written agreement on the furniture nor the rent or the boy friend. All I want to do is just compensate the 75$ for 1200$ which she doesn't want to. Can she really take any legal action in this case or can I take any action against her?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Tell her to pound sand. Sure she could sue you in small claims if she felt like it but she would have to prove that you owe her anything. Remind her that she left the furniture when she moved out.
