    Default Prepaid Correctional Phone Service

This question is concerning the state of MI.
I set up a prepaid account with correctional billing company to receive collect calls from prison. I set this service up over the phone at no time was informed of the policy that states that if you don't receive calls for 180 days your account would be closed and the money on your account would be forfeited. I would like to know if this is legal. Thanks in advance any help would be greatly appreciated.

You being the inmate or you being a friend or relative on the outside? With the account in whose name? How did you find the company you used? How much money is involved?

The short answer probably is "small claims court".

Me being a friend/relative on the outside. The account was in my name. The inmate informed me of the company and gave me the phone number that was listed by the phone in the jail. $200.00
