My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: Texas

I was driving really late at night and hit something in the middle of the road which caused me to lose control of the car. Just bad luck, I hit the one pole on the side of the road which knocked down the warning traffic lights. Luckly, even though the car was totaled I was alright.

The cops showed up soon afterwards and completely disregarded my story. They thought I was drunk and wouldn't get off that assumption, even though I don't drink and clearly showed no signs of drinking.

I got a letter from them today and I was charged with Unsafe Speed (Under limit). They obviously didn't buy my story and I'm thinking of going to court to fight it. I was charged $305 for it.

What chance do I have of fighting this and where can I find more information on this citation so I can better present my argument. I think its a B.S. fine, but obviously that can't be my main reason. I also have a witness who is my friend who saw the whole thing if that helps.

Thank you
