Default Section 7411 and Applying for Citizenship

    Hi,

In 2008 I was charged with a misdemeanor possession of marijuana. I received section 7411 in Michigan. I did all the required classes and probation hours. I have been in US since May 2008. I am currently 19 years old and this happened when I was 18. Will this affect my application?

    Thank you.

I would not be surprised if there's a delay, while the USCIS takes a bit more care about whether you're a drug addict, but I wouldn't expect that alone to prevent naturalization.
