My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California
My future tenant signed a lease agreement on 5/12 starting the lease from June 1st ( tomorrow ) for 6 months. He gave the rent and deposit and we were all set.
A couple of days ago, he calls and states that he wont be able to move in and wants the rent and the deposit back. I have to restart all the tenant searching procedure etc.
What is the correct procedure at this point ? Appreciate all insights and pointers.
