Unhappy Abused in an Online Game

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: California

I go to school and my one of my class mates abuse's me on an online multi player game and thinks its not against the law.

    What should I do?

Are you being abused inside the game?

If yes, then there is really nothing you can do about it.

If you are being abused outside the game, what kind of abuse are we talking about?

Someone is talking smack to you in a video game?

That probably isn't legally actionable... especially if the "abuse" is truthful or his opinion. Both the truth and his opinion are legally protected.

As an aside, you will find life is much more fulfilling if you learn to deal with your own problems in effective ways. Not every situation that makes you mad, sad or uncomfortable is legally actionable.

He thinks he can get away with it because he CAN get away with it.

As you get older, you will find that there are very few laws designed around protecting your feelings.

I have learned that criminals "think" they can get away with it. But they can't. My own definition of A criminal is: A heart less loser. And Spent half thier life doing this,

What you choose to define, while perhaps interesting commentary on the human condition, isn't, alas, relevant to the current state of the law.

I'm not sure which game you're playing, but there aren't that many MMORPGS around, so I'm guessing it's World of Warcraft.

That said, and even if it isn't, most have this functionality, you simply highlight the person's name and click "ignore". In damages cases, even assuming you had one, you kind of have to work to mitigate how much you're damaged. Like, say, you can't stop in the middle of the street and get hit by a car to in turn sue them when you could have moved out of the way and prevented the whole thing.

Here, you can either use ignore on this person, or simply open a ticket with a game master if the person's conduct is outside of the game's Terms of Service or End User Licensing Agreement. If the person's conduct is in violation, the game masters will happily action that person's account. This is distinct from you have a claim of action in court though.
