Trespass, Drunk, Broken Bones

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

Hi

I am a fully fledged Brit (Family tree of 340 years in England) and was crewing on a very rich American chaps private yacht until May 1st but the incident happened in Early January.....

Having just arrived from England on Jan 4th 2009 I was positive about the coming year and although on my own I was out to meet people.

On a saturday night I bumped into some people - and headed down to the Blue martini - failing to get in (wearing sandals) I ended up cycling along the beach front in Fort Lauderdale visiting all the exciting bars - leaving Elbow room at about 12am with a BAC of probably 0.11 (4 US pints) I cycled on although almost completely lost I asked for directions, I cycled to far and ended up in downtown Fort Lauderdale and locked up my bike and went to the bars - leaving with a BAC of "Outrageous" I cycled back.

This is where the blue began - I do remember falling off my bike, causing a fractured Scaphoid in my wrist (1200 USD and currently just finished month 6 of recovery) Now on US 1 I stopped and (at the time didnt remember) put my bike on the side of the road and went looking for help/direction (wrist size of golfball lots of pain when moved)

At about 4-6am I opened someones door and went to sleep on their sofa, I was escorted out of the property by a man, I went to Starbucks (still over the limit) didnt buy anything and thought "wheres my bike" went back and to my amazement I found my bike almosty next door to starbucks with the house in question 40 yards away.

I remember getting on my bike and cycling away with a Brunette women on the phone (to the police i gather) and in my state I ignored her.

2 minutes later I was pulled over by a squad car.

Although the Police in short took my back to near the property in question to try and pled with the irate women that I was drunk from England and she should drop the charge she persisted and then shouted at me "I hope you rott in Jail" (I am a nice guy so I was feeling pretty low at this point as I could not quite understand what I had done)

The officers I had a nice chat with, they actually pulled away out of site and asked me about England and it was all light hearted (I began to shake so they calmed me down abit) They ended up driving myself and bike back to where I was staying at the time. I said I was in the USA until April!

A couple of weeks later I got a notice to appear in caught, I hired a lawyer with all the money I had. I went to the second hearing and the case was delayed by the victim and now its on the 11th June.

I am now back in the Great Britain and have to spend out close to 1000 USD just to get back to the USA and I really am concerned because after my lawyer spoke with the prosecutor and the victim he said "she really is not a nice person". Great so I am dealing with someone who I am sure will settle for nothing less than Jail Time. The lady lied about many points that didnt happen - She said I stole - Police found nothing, She said I tried to hit her also not on the statement police took at the time, she said later that shetook me off the property but it was her husband. She sounds like someone who wants money - I thought I would rather pay the fines over here and giver her 1000 USD (cost of travel) to donate to a charity of her choosing but I know I must attend

What am i likely to recieve.

I do not have a criminal record in the UK, I dont have any speeding offences on my license and I like America and would like to go back some day later in life. I also will have joined the British Army on passing the medical I start the week after my court date!

Having spoken to a friend here in the UK - Because the person who I trespassed upon has in no way shape or form been incapacitated from my actions then I should not be liable for damages.

Ideas Currently back at work in the UK and paying Tax I will update this later.
