My question involves divorce in the State of: Pennsylvania
Good day,
I'm about to start the divorce proceedings. A little background: Me and my husband have been married for almost 2 years, separated for some months (almost a year). Even though it'd be better for me to stay married to him , because I'm ""supposedly" applying for my permanent green card on December, I just can't , I can't call him my husband anymore. He has been nothing short of a pain in the butt for the last few months, he even stole some money I had in our joint account (yes, we still have a joint account, silly me) and to make things worse, ive been trying to communicate with him for the last 2 months and he's not answering my calls, text mssgs, emails, nothing. I know where he lives in NY and where he works.
THe question is this: I'm afraid he won't want to sign the divorce just because he's being a jacka** (I"m very dissapointed with his actions), so if he doesn't sign it ,after 60 days it'll become defaulted, right? Does this means that after 60 days I'll be divorced? I want to go live in another country (either way, I'm not even going to try to apply for the permanent residence) so I want to get this over with as soon as possible. Since we don't have any assets together, no children, no cars, no mortgages , nothing, it should be easier and faster...right? thank you in advance!
