Hi all, I'm 30 years old and been in US since 16 years old.
I was wondering if I have any chance at renewing my greencard with a 9 year old conviction of drug possession.
I was convicted back in 2000 for possession and did 3 years in jail. I was never questioned or picked up by INS. Did my time, got out, and proceeded with life. It was the first time I ever got in any trouble and obviously the last. I was 19 at the time.
Since than I had rehabilitated myself to being a productive individual. Gone to school, become a certified expert on several technologies in my field of web development and now I own a small company with 4 employees.
My company is growing but I don't want this to affect my business in the future (like being picked up and deported) and decided that I rather try to resolve it now.
I'd like to know if there's any chance for me to renew my greencard. How would a judge view this, is there any room for any type of consideration or I'm just a number and there's no way around it?
(Also my father and daughter are US citizens but I know that doesn't mean anything)
Thanks a lot for any input.
