Confused, there was a way. But from your post it seems you aare all done with this? If so, I dont believe you can. I have an example tho. I was arrested after I was turned in from a babysitter. (leaving out details). I had my attorney to file a motion to confront my accuser. Hearing was postponed for 30 days until we got an answer. You should have asked your attorney.
and what did your babysitter turn you in for? It sounds like she was either the victim or a witness to whatever crime took place. If that was the case, then of course that persons name is obtainable. That is a whole different situation.

OP does not talk like this is the situation though.

Thanks all you smartasses who think you are cute when someone is asking a simple question. I dont want any retribution or witness tampering. My time is done but I owe you all no explanation. Those of you that answered must be cops that think you are all that, the same ones that break the law but get away with it cause you hide behind a badge. I just wanted to find out who I could trust and who not. Thanks for nothing.
I believe your question WAS answered. Unless they choose to volunteer that information, there is almost certainly nothing you can do to force the police to reveal who dropped the dime on you ... that is IF they even know.

Like I said, unless they used the info as part of an affidavit for a search warrant or some similar legal proceeding, they don't need to record the info. As a matter of practice, I never write that info down anywhere for just this purpose. If it is not written, it is not discoverable.

Now, if this was the result of a call from someone saying you were plowed and driving around in a specific location, there might be achance that the name and other info was saptured in the dispatch system. If so, then that is likely public record. If someone turned you in fro a warrant, then the previous info still stands.

    Thanks all you smartasses
Anyone else noticing a trend in feedback of late on this very topic? I might not speak for everyone, OP, but there's no need to thank us. Sarcasm is just one more service we offer here --also free of charge.

That you don't like the answers or the tone in which they were given, however, doesn't somehow change the truth value of the responses.

Depends on what you are being turned in for. I have the local report-a-drunk-driver number programmed into my phone and use it at least once per year. They never ask for my name.

An officer is unlikely to pull you over based upon an anonymous tip of a traffic offense. More likely that officer will catch up to you and initiate a stop based upon his or her own observations of offenses you commit in front of them. At that point, the anonymous tipster becomes an irrelevance.
