    Default sanctions

What are sanctions concerning a court order? It took 11 months for my wife's attorney to enter a court order and when he did it was incorrect. A friend mentioned something about sanctions concerning this order but I didn't understand.

Sanctions are a court-imposed penalty for improper conduct, which can include mistakes. Sanctions are often in the form of reimbursement of attorney fees to the other side in the litigation. The fact that a mistake occurred, though, does not necessarily mean that sanctions will be awarded.
