    Question Being Evicted

i have this problem with our landlord because we received a notice that he wants me to leave the place which is questionable to me.. it says there that our contract under my name has already expired.. he said one year ago, when we finished it 2years ago. and the new one which is on last year up to the present is on my husband's name.. how can he evict me when it is already not on my name ??what are my rights and to have a counter attack against him? I'm really confused and mad because at the same time he is harassing us.. the only reason he was doing this because we fired his son..

Also, he denied that he signed the contract and accused my husband of forgery.. when one of the witness is his son which also signed the contract as one of the witness, and claiming the building as theirs when it was us who build it and is on my husband's name as the owner.

also, it says there that the contract ended at february 2009 but it was notarized on august 2008 last year when we had the contract... so it is possible that it will end in august???PLEASE do reply!! need help! thanks

Calm down and tell us what state you live in.
how can he evict me when it is already not on my name ??
You not being on the lease does not protect you from eviction. If anything, it usually makes it easier for the landlord to evict you.

On what grounds is he evicting?

    Unhappy Re: Being Evicted

actually im not from the US i'm from the other country.. he said i didnt pay the rents two years ago, which is a lie.. and if i didnt pay the rents why did he renew another contract??? also we are the one giving the receipts because they couldnt provide any for the reason that they dont want to pay the tax..

we went to our lawyer and he said it is VOID and that they do not have any evidence and he wondered why did they even sent me a demand letter... and told us to let them sue me.. because when it is already in the court we have all the evidence and also we can show the receipts that we paid more than what was in the contract...

they did this because of what we did to their son and also that my husband is a foreigner.. and they are taking advantage

    it's so complicated...

it says there the ground of my case is ejectment...please please do respond...

    THANKS

As noted when you registered and when you posted, we only handle US law here.

I'm afraid we cannot help you. You would do well to consult an attorney in the country you live in, wherever that might be.
