    From what I know you should be able to name her what ever u want with no problems as long as there is no paternity papers. Dont know about your state but in ohio unwed mothers can name the child whatever they please when born. If birth cetficate is already done you may need to take it to a lawyer to have it changed.

    i am getting married in october, and i want to change her last name to my soon to be married name. she already has my last name. does my spouse have to adopt her, or can we just add him to the birth certificate like he was the father all along? i no this sounds sneaky, but i really don't want to have to jump thru hoops to change her name.
