Default Misdemeanor Record from Fishing Without a License

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Nebraska

Ok another question. I did a court records check on myself and found a few suprising things and this is one of them. In 2005 I got a ticket for fishing without a license. I figured this was a petty offense and didn't worry about. I paid the fine and was done. Well come to find out it's a Class II misdemeanor!! I looked up the law in nebraska and it says you can buy a permit and have it dropped. I don't remember this being offered to me. If I would have known this I would have bought a 20 dollar permit and been done with it. Is there anything I can do about it now? I'm guessing not but I thought I'd ask.

I can't believe a 75.00 fine and I have a class II misdemeanor. I also discovered in my court records a no car valid registration 25.00 fine from 2003that i don't even remember that is a class III misdemeanor.

I've had jobs since then and no has said anything to me about these. I never put them on my App when it asked about misdemeanors because the registration ticket I dont even remember, and the fishing license thing I thought was an infraction. I had a court case recently and my lawyer said I didn't have any kind of a criminal record. Is it possible since jobs haven't said anything to me about this and what my lawyer said that it doesn't show up on a criminal record search? I don't know maybe I'm chasing dreams hear but maybe actually getting a listing of of court cases and dispositions is different then doing a background search?

    Thanks in advance!

You need to start paying attention to the citations you receive and what happens in court. Pleading guilty to a misdemeanor by mistake once? Possibly. But twice?

A misdemeanor record is a criminal record. If you want clarification of what your lawyer meant, ask your lawyer. You can also discuss with him whether there's any way to attack the convictions, and whether you should be trying to get transcripts to see if proper procedures were followed when you entered your guilty pleas.
