    Question Marriage Settlement Agreement

My question involves divorce in the State of: California

My wife filed for divorce today... we don't have attorneys representing us but have agreed to everything and on how to divide our debt and assets.

The only issue is that I am buying a home and need to show proof to the bank that I am not liable for my soon to be ex-wife's debt (which she has agreed to keep under her name). I have been reading about marital settlement agreements but don't understand when to file it with the court...

Any advise of how I could get that agreement filed or recorded with the court so the bank can approve my loan?

    Thank you,

If I were the lender, I wouldn't be happy with anything short of a judgment of divorce. Has your lender told you that they'll settle for something short of that?
