My question involves a background check in the State of: Florida
Between 2003 and 2006, I was issued several (4, maybe 5) random drug tests at my place of employment, a regional bank. I was very young college student and not aware of the consequences of my actions hence, I was not obeying all laws on the weekend. After, the drug tests were taken, I never was requested to formally meet with my employer to discuss the results so I assumed that my drug tests had cleared negative. Occasionally, I would hear comments from other co-workers about my weekend "fun" but I thought nothing of it, just the usual colleague banter. I have since moved onto other jobs, schools, and organizations, and I am being consistently harassed about a positive drug test and being an "addict." So years later, I am assuming that I probably tested positive on one or two of the tests. This has actually affected my career progression and reputation, and possibly employment applications that I have submitted over the last few years. Is this information confidential? Am I included in a database of past "users" or is this showing up on some work report under my name? If so, how do I get these records resolved or sealed? Thanks...
