My question involves paternity law for the State of: Texas
I have been married for almost 11 years. We have had no contact in over 9 years. I had a baby with another man 5 years ago and complicated the whole thing even more. At the hospital I was asked tons of questions and had to sign many forms in order to get the biological fathers name on the birth certificate. The baby's biological father signed papers as well. I am now being told that because my missing husband failed to sign a Denial Of Paternity that the baby's father is still not legally her father by terms of the state. This is complicating the divorce that I need to get from the man I have had no contact with in over 9 years.
How will I get him to sign paperwork? Is there someway I can move on with this divorce in a manner that is done without a lawyer?
