Default Conditional Discharge - Problem With Community Service

Well, to make long story short, my lawyer told me to plea guilty to an A misdemeanor (Petti Larceny). So I pleaded guilty and the judge gives me a condotional discharge, as long as i keep my promise to not get arrested again (probation) and do community service. Here is where the problem starts. I get a yellow sheet... and was ordered to give it to my probation officer. My lawyer tells me "Ask the probation officer if you will do community service through her". 2 Days later i meet with my probation officer and i find out that i dont do community service through her... so then later on about half an hour later i call my lawyer to tell her... but she does not pick up. I left her a message... and she answers it 2 weeks later!!!! The month is febuary... that is when i got the conditional discharge... until this month may 20th. I take matters into my own hand and start calling community service organizations... i explain my situation and when i say that i am doing community service for court, every place (parks and child services) tells me to go to court and get papers stating what i did and my docket number and such... this is so stressful. I then go to court and go to the community service office... i explain to the officer my situation and she says that i need some paperwork from my lawyer... WOW. its been a month... and then another month... now its 2 months and my lawyer decides to call. Anyway, what can happen to me when i go back to sentencing on the 20th? I dont think its my fault that my lawyer didnt do her job... im a student, i am doing something with my life to get past this. Should i explain to the judge what happened? Will the judge take into consideration that i tried to take this into my own hands? Will she take into consideration that atleast i didnt violate my probation? Is it possible to get an extension for community service? Or for my conditional discharge? What other sentences can be set on me other than the alternative sentence for an A misdemeanor (1 year in jail)?

You seem to be saying that you haven't done your community service. Try to have it completed before you go to court. If that's not possible, talk to your lawyer about requesting an adjournment of your court date to give you more time to complete your community service.
