My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CALIFORNIA
I have a friend who is facing an adjudication law judge next week. My friend was terminated from his job. Filed a UI claim. The termination was verified by the employer. My friend began receiving benefits. Now the decision is being appealed by the employer two months after the benefits were disbursed.
My Questions...
How many days does an employer have to appeal UI Benefits decision?
Will my friend lose their benefits and if so how can they get them back?
What are the reasons why the determination to disburse benefits will be overturned?
Due to the economic climate...are a lot of employers doing this and if so how are they able to get away with it?
Thanks
