My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington State
I'm 17. Yesterday I was cought shoplifting at urban outfitters, I was taken downstairs to the office for 'processing'. the manager asked for my ID and wrote down my name, address and SSC. He also asked for my phone #, which I gave him my cell. I also signed a tresspasing form saying that I wouldnt enter for 3 years.
The manager told me that he was technically supposed to call the cops or my parents to come get me, but he let me go because I was with my 18 year old boyfriend. He told me that I would be sent a letter from urban outfitters in the mail, telling me what would happen and I would be fined for the time he took to process me.
I'm so embarassed, and really regret it, and know I seriously learned my lesson, but is there anyway I dont have to involve my parents? I know that they would be extremely disapointed in me.
My I guess my questions are:
How much is a fine for a first time minor offender?
When should I expect a letter? and will it be addressed to me?
will I have to go to court at all?
Will this go on my record?
Thank you very much and if theres any advice you have for me I really appreciate it.
