Post 16 Year Old Leaving Home

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: alabama

I'm 15 turning 16 and I wish to no longer live at home, or with any other family. I want to be with the person I love and want to spend the rest of my life with, which my mother will not allow. My father mentally abuses me, and my mother has clinical depression, which she has tried to kill herself twice. My siblings abuse my phisically, and my mother refuses to sign papers for me to sue my sister who gave me a black eye 5 months back. I will soon have a well paying job and have a suporrting friend whom ive talked with about living. Her family is okay with it all. I just need the rules of having an emancipation, and whether its a good idea or not.

Since you have no documentation of steady work history to prove to a court that you could ENTIRELY support YOURSELF (no, living with someone you love won't fly), emancipation isn't an option.

And even if you HAD that work history and income, no court is going to emancipate you from parents who put a roof over your head and food in your stomach so you can start playing house on your own.

Did you read ANY of the stickies about what emancipation is and what's required to even THINK about attempting it????

If I recall correctly, Alabama will not emancipate a teen under the age of 18, for any reason, under any circumstances.

So that takes care of that.
