You might be able to outrun a police officer; even an ARMY of officers chasing you - but take it from a police dispatcher - you won't outrun an officer's radio (which very easily summons dogs, helicopers, OTHER officers, and other assets that can be called into play once an officer makes it known that they've got someone running from them - they'll worry about CATCHING you first, and then figure out what you DID later). And, once you run (which is a form of resisting), you can bet that the odds of tazer deployment begin to skyrocket unless you decide to suddenly stop and sit on your own.
Getting shot? Probably not - but you'd better make damn sure that they can see your hands at ALL times - and that NOTHING is in your hands, or even pretending to have something in your hands - cops know better than anyone that a 13 year old can suddenly turn and open fire on them, and the ones who want to go home at the end of the day will be watching carefully.
In other words, if you run, you'll only be that much more tired and scruffy when they bag you.
