Default Possible Vehicle Defect Resulting in Injury

I was recently involved in a front end auto collision. The other driver was at fault. The collision was severe causing lacerations to the face, broken bones & multiple contusions. My truck is a 2000 model air bag equipped, the air bags never deployed & had they, I would not have all the facial injury. Whats the skinney on this?? Is there any OEM liability here?? What should I do??

Default Failure of Air Bags to Deploy

There may be - do you feel comfortable disclosing the make and model of the vehicle? (If not it's hard to investigate further, but a local products liability lawyer may be able to help you determine if there is a viable action.)

If possible, also, it is good to try to determine if there is a claim before the vehicle is repaired, such that the cause of the airbag failure can be thoroughly investigated.

Generally, under strict product liability, one merely has to show that the product was defective, and that it was sold in that condition, nothing more. The entire supply chain back to the OEM can be sued, but no additional amounts can be gotten by being successful against more than one party.

aaron is right. You should seek out a good product liability attorney and soon. My suggestion is to find the largest attorney or law firm you can because it will take some $ to go after an auto manufacturer.

    The vehicle is a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4.

This vehicle was determined to be a total loss due to extensive frame damage that was not initially visable until after sheet metal was cut away.

    Any thoughts??
