    Default Newspaper postings and public notices

    One of the postings about Walmart said that their name and arrest was posted in the local paper. Is this standard? I am so ashamed and afraid of people I know finding out....

    It is not unusual for shoplifting (or other) arrests to be reported in a local newspaper.

    The location would vary by paper. Often it is called the "police blotter" or something similar. Even assuming your local paper has one, sometimes it's cut short or eliminated due to space concerns, so you may be lucky.

    Just do a google on the name you gave when you were arrested. Most likely your local paper also posts online to view.
